ProtecX Medical are delighted to announce that the company has been honoured with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the category of International Trade. The award, which is valid for the next five years, is in recognition of demonstrating continuous outstanding growth in international exports over the past several years. The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious business awards in the UK, recognising and celebrating business excellence across Britain.

For over 20 years, ProtecX Medical has been passionately handcrafting radiation protection garments from our factory in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, which we distribute through specialist partners worldwide. Now, we are part of the world’s largest vertically integrated radiation protection supplier and have been honoured to be recognised as one of 223 businesses nationally with a Queens Award.

WHAT IS THE QUEENS AWARD?

• The Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious business awards in the UK. The awards were first established in 1965 and since then over 7000 companies have achieved a Queen’s Award.
• The awards celebrate the success of exciting and innovative businesses which are leading the way with pioneering products or services, delivering impressive social mobility programmes or showing their commitment to excellent sustainable development practices.
• This year 225 UK businesses have been recognised for their contribution to International Trade, Innovation, Sustainable Development and Promoting Opportunity (through Social Mobility). 7 of these businesses won double awards meaning that a total number of Queen’s Awards for Enterprise which were awarded in 2022 is 232.

As we start to emerge from the coronavirus pandemic, Protecx Medical and our partners remain committed to operating in a COVID secure way. To allow you access to the products you need, when you need them the most.
Our manufacturing facility has remained operational throughout the pandemic, supporting the PPE effort by pivoting our production lines to face masks, protective visors and isolation gowns. Whilst supplying our usual range of radiation protection equipment.

To protect our valued healthcare service, our sales and customer service teams have efficiently worked from home since March 2020, and like the majority of the UK, we have become well versed in using remote communication methods to support our customers, internal teams, and key stakeholders.
